This Privacy Policy explains how the Pretiola Initiative (“Pretiola”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information through this website and its inquiry forms. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@pretiola.org.
Information we collect
When you submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, message and consent to be contacted. Contributor inquiries also include your selected contribution category and any availability, time zone, interests or referral information you choose to provide. Ministry inquiries include the organization name and country.
We also process limited technical information to operate and protect the forms, including a security cookie and information used to detect repeated submissions. Hosting services may process connection information, including IP addresses, in their own operational logs.
Do not submit passwords, payment details, identity documents, health information or confidential information about other people. Only provide information you are authorized to share.
How we use information
We use your information to review and respond to inquiries, discuss potential contributions or ministry support, maintain records of those conversations, and protect the website against spam and misuse. We do not use inquiry information for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Access and service providers
Inquiry records are stored by the Pretiola application and are available through restricted administrative access. Access is intended for people responsible for reviewing and handling inquiries. Our production hosting configuration uses Fly.io and persistent database storage. Hosting, messaging, email and backup providers may process information as necessary to supply their services.
When Telegram delivery is enabled, submitted contact details, messages and other inquiry fields are sent through Telegram to designated reviewers. Email notifications, when used instead, contain only an inquiry reference and category. We may disclose information where required by applicable law or where necessary to address unlawful activity or protect legal rights.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses an essential cookie named pretiola_form to protect form submissions. It expires after up to 24 hours and is not used for advertising. If you disable cookies, you can contact us by email instead of submitting a form.
We use temporarily processed network addresses and keyed hashes of network and email addresses to limit repeated submissions. Raw network addresses are not stored in inquiry records. Optional Google Analytics collection is described below.
Google Analytics and Google Signals
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, assess how our public information is used and improve the website. Google receives information such as page views, visit times and engagement, cookie identifiers, referring website information, browser and operating-system details, device type and screen resolution. Google also receives network information, including your IP address, which can be used to derive approximate location, such as country, region or city. These identifiers are not the same as anonymous data.
Our Analytics property supports Google Signals, granular location and device information, and advertising personalization. If you choose “Allow analytics and advertising”, Google may associate visits with information from the Google accounts of signed-in users who have allowed that association in their Google settings. This can include location, search history, YouTube history and activity on sites that partner with Google. It can support demographic and interest reports, cross-device insights and personalized advertising through linked Google advertising services, where configured. Pretiola receives reports rather than access to your individual Google account history.
“Allow analytics only” permits site measurement while this site's tag disables Google Signals and advertising personalization and denies advertising storage and advertising-data consent. We do not send inquiry names, email addresses, messages, account User-IDs or user-provided data to Google Analytics. Our inquiry forms and confirmation pages do not load the Google tag. Public page addresses sent by our integration omit query strings and fragments; referrer information is limited to the referring site's origin.
Your analytics choices
Optional Google tags are blocked until you choose to allow them. You may reject optional cookies and continue using the site and its forms. Change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Privacy choices” in the footer. Withdrawal stops future collection by this site's tag and removes the Analytics cookies we can access; it does not automatically erase information already received by Google or cookies on Google's domains. When JavaScript is unavailable, including in Lynx, our Google tag does not run.
We store your choice in the essential pretiola_privacy cookie for up to 180 days. If permitted, Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_504XXPYDKL to distinguish visits. Our tag limits these Analytics cookies to 180 days without automatically extending that period on each visit. Advertising features may also use Google cookies and advertising identifiers, subject to your choices and Google's settings.

Analytics providers and international processing
Google processes Analytics information for us under its applicable service and data-processing terms. Processing and storage may take place outside your country, including in the United States. Google's role and any use through linked services depend on the enabled features, account settings and applicable terms. See Google's Ads Data Processing Terms for its processing and international-transfer provisions. We rely on your consent for optional Analytics and advertising storage and collection, and you may withdraw it as described above.
Data retention
Analytics information is held separately from our inquiry database. Google Analytics event and user data follow the retention settings for our Analytics property; aggregated reports and data associated with Google accounts can follow different retention rules. Cookie expiry does not delete data already held by Google. You may contact us about Analytics deletion requests and use Google's account controls for information associated with your Google account.
Inquiry records and associated notification jobs are automatically removed from the application after 90 days. This automatic deletion does not remove copies delivered to Telegram; those copies require separate deletion by the responsible reviewers. Separate records created for an agreed engagement are outside this inquiry process and require their own retention arrangements.
Deleted information may remain in backups until those backups expire. If a backup is restored, previously approved deletion requests must be reapplied.
Security
We use access restrictions, submission validation and abuse controls to protect inquiry information. No system or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your inquiry information, or to ask us to stop contacting you. Include your inquiry reference or the email address used for the inquiry. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to the relevant data protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or our information-handling practices. The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date.
